Introducing The Worm that Turned

Supplying the HORECA (HOtelREstaurantCAfe) community our outdoor furniture has been part of The Worm that Turned business since 2005 when we received our first commercial order from a gastro pub in Oxford. Since then we’ve supplied a broad variety of restaurants, cafes, hotels, pubs and bars with outdoor furniture and accessories from our carefully selected ranges.

 

 

Businesses large and small buy from us because they’ve come to learn that we give the sort of service and expert advice that, we are told, is unfortunately rare.  Our regular deliveries of furniture from Europe also mean that we can, where possible, shorten lead-times for certain orders. We understand the challenges faced by the industry in relation to outdoor dining and make recommendations based on that knowledge.

 

 

Crucially, we are aware of the manufacturers strengths and weaknesses and know their ranges inside out. We know what works well in specific locations and visit overseas trade fairs and the manufacturers frequently to keep our knowledge up-to-date and deepen the relationship with suppliers. This can help ‘pull strings’ when the going gets tough and an unplanned or opportunistic need arises. It also enables us to understand the potential for bespoke items.

 

We are used to working with architects and designers, principals and managers. Ideally, we prefer to work at the outset of a project. We help guide the business to an ideal and timely solution to fit with their outdoor plans as often the furniture is made-to-order. Primarily this means tables and seating, but also outdoor lighting and accessories. An increased level of casual dining means a wide variety of table and seating heights together with a range of comfort options depending on the expected ‘dwell time’. The quality of furnishings often says ‘all one needs to know’ about an establishment. After all, if a business doesn’t care about the comfort and ambience of a setting – what hope is there for the rest of their offering?  Some of our ranges, particularly those from our French manufacturing partner Fermob, are available in a wide range of regularly produced, co-ordinating colours. This enables customers to colour theme their selection to their brand and can for larger quantities, include additional RAL colours, special printing or laser cutting. We also can supply a wide range of commercial quality parasol and sun shades, again if necessary branded and colour themed. Naturally other items such as boundary markers and planters can also be provided.
