NEW NOTTINGHAM RESTAURANTS & BARS IN JANUARY 2019

Monty’s, Curious Manor’s latest reincarnation of their Trinity Square venue launched on the 18th of last month. Less of a restaurant and more of an activities venue – think social club for young adults who enjoy games and sport – with interactive darts, ping pong, pool, table football, pinball machines, games and a 20ft shuffleboard on offer. You can watch live sport or enjoy the cocktails and candy floss, tacos and pizzas. The emphasis is on giving people a leisure experience rather than just a wine and dine style night out. In the suburbs..
Formerly Avenue in West Bridgford, which lasted just eighteen short months, the venue has opened its doors once more as Zinc. In the heart of the busy shopping district, this intimate Central Avenue pub is open from breakfast until late, providing an easy ambience with a mixture of high and classic tables, casual layout, wooden flooring and relaxed décor. Great for a private party or to hook up with friends. Let’s hope it does much better than its predecessor. Check out their Fb page, @ZincWestBridgford
A story of community spirit to breathe new life into a once, much-loved, pub, the Red Lion at Thurgaton, has proved successful. A £150,000 investment and the backing of experienced restaurateur and publican, new owner, Julian Benton (of The Staunton Arms and The Earl of Chesterfield) this 16th Century inn will enjoy a full refurbishment to recreate a bar and 70 seater restaurant serving modern British cuisine. The pub welcomes dogs and has an outdoor terrace for those wanting to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat outside.
New owners have moved into to The Townhouse Bar & Kitchen in Arnold. The venue closed in the summer of last year but under new owner, Julie Haynes, has re-opened serving modern British cuisine and hosting live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings with one-off events to look out for.
